Product Overview
1-1/4 in. Steel Strapping Tool: The A483 is a pneumatic combination strapping tool used to tension, seal, and cut 1-1/4 in. strap in a single operation for high-tensile, high-volume operations.
Built for Steel Mills and Service Centers: Built for steel strapping lines running 1-1/4 in. strap at high tension, the A483 handles the combined tension-seal-cut cycle in one motion. It's suited for steel service centers, steel mills, and other high-volume industrial operations where strap size and tensile demands rule out lighter combination tools. The 13.4760 configuration carries the higher-tension gear ratio and is the standard model stocked for this application.

Bench Note: We spec the 13.4760 for 1-1/4 in. steel strapping jobs. It runs the higher-tension gear ratio at 2,020 lbs (9,000 N) instead of the standard 1,570 lbs, which is what steel service centers and mills actually need. We recommend it over Signode's PRHR-114, the closest comparable tool. Between the two, Fromm's kept wear parts in stock consistently. Heads up that this is a hefty tool at 39.7 lbs (18.0 kg), so run it on a tool balancer rather than freehand. We like Ingersoll Rand balancers for this tool.
